It’s like a commission, but I’m giving you more control.
I’ve always thought the soundtrack in my studio was crucial. I listened to Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams album so many times that it became its own series.
Now I’m giving you control of my playlist, and, if you like the outcome, a new piece of art for yourself or a loved one (holiday gift, anyone?).
These little monotypes capture the moment of a song. I have to work fast before the ink dries on my plexiglass plate. It’s a gut reaction that can only exist once. In other words, it’s an edition of one, one-of-a-kind, cannot be reproduced image.
The process
- Think of your Song + Color request. (keep in mind I’ll interpret your color as my inks allow)
- Send me your assignment for $5.
- I’ll confirm I found the right song (Wagon Wheel only has one true artist in my opinion). Then I’ll listen to it twice: once to prepare the color, and a second time to make an abstract monotype.
- I’ll show you a picture of the finished piece.
- You decide if you like it! If it’s not your jam, no hard feelings. If it is, I’ll mat it in archival board cut for a 5×7″ frame for $30.
Details
- approximate image dimensions: 2.75×3.75″ – the perfect little moment for a 5×7″ frame
- all monotypes will be printed on off-white Arches fine paper and matted in off-white Canson board
- need me to find a frame? I’ll see what I can do!
- shipping? Yes, I’m happy to do that. I’ll add on the cost.
- if it’s not for you, it’s all mine
